PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A circuit court has ordered the trial of Joseph Hoek to be moved from Moody County to Pennington County. According to KELOLand, Hoek is accused of intentionally striking and killing Moody County Deputy Sheriff Ken Prorok during a high-speed chase in 2024. The judge granted the change of venue after a court survey found that nearly sixty percent of Moody County residents had already formed an opinion about Hoek’s guilt or innocence.
