MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Officer Shanden Reiners has graduated from the Basic Law Enforcement Academy and will return to Mitchell to begin his service with the police department.
Reiners enters the role with a strong family connection to public safety. His father, Bill Reiners, previously served with the South Dakota Capitol Complex Police Department, marking a continuation of the family’s commitment to law enforcement in the state.
The Mitchell Police Department welcomed the news of Reiners’ graduation and upcoming return to the community, noting that new officers play an essential role in maintaining public safety and strengthening local policing efforts.
Reiners is expected to begin his duties in Mitchell following department onboarding and field training.
