MLB

The Cubs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but starter Bailey Ober was able to right the ship and guide the Twins to a win Friday night at Wrigley Field. Ober went 5.1 innings, allowing only five hits and two walks. He was charged with a pair of earned runs while striking out seven.

In the meantime, the Twins offense roared to life in the top of the third. Trevor Larnach tied the game with an RBI single. Ryan Jeffers launched a three-run bomb to left-center and Minnesota was up 4-1. They never looked back, winning the game 5-2. The Twins are now at .500. They’re record is 49-49.

The Twins go for the series win on Saturday at 1:20 p.m.

WNBA
