MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Mitchell Public Schools will offer free early childhood developmental screenings for children ages 3 to 5 who reside within the Mitchell School District later this month.
The screenings are designed to assess several areas of a child’s development, including social skills, vision, speech and hearing, language, concepts, and gross and fine motor skills.
Parents or guardians of eligible children are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 605-995-7502.
The screenings will take place at Early Childhood Development, 816 Davison St., on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The screenings are provided at no cost and are intended to help families better understand their child’s developmental progress before entering school.
