After coming within one degree of tying the record high temperature for April 4th on Sunday, Mitchell shattered the record high for April 5th on Monday.  Sunday’s high was 85 degrees.  The record of 86 was set on April 4th, 1929.  On Monday afternoon, Mitchell hit 91 degrees.   The previous record for April 5th was 83 degrees set in 1912.  The weather will take a dramatic turn on the cooler side with a front bringing rain, wind, and possible thunderstorms through Thursday.
