5th Avenue Closure Scheduled for Street, Utility Improvements Beginning May 11

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — A portion of 5th Avenue in Mitchell will close beginning Monday, May 11, for street and utility improvement work.

City officials said the closure will begin at 8:30 a.m. and affect 5th Avenue from Burr Street to Kittridge Avenue. The area will remain closed until further notice while construction is underway.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and plan alternate routes during the project. Officials thanked residents and drivers for their patience during the construction process.
