MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Two nationally known performers will take the stage in Mitchell this week as the 2026 Corn Palace Festival brings five days of entertainment, carnival rides and community activities downtown.
Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer is scheduled to perform Friday, Aug. 28, while country artist Cole Swindell will headline Saturday, Aug. 29, according to Visit Mitchell’s official festival information.
The festival begins Wednesday, Aug. 26, and continues through Sunday, Aug. 30.
Wednesday’s opening-day schedule includes VFW-Legion Bingo from 3 to 10 p.m. Vendors and carnival rides are scheduled to open at 5 p.m., according to the City of Mitchell’s event calendar.
The annual festival centers around the Corn Palace and downtown Mitchell, combining live entertainment with activities for residents and visitors. The Friday and Saturday concerts are among the major attractions scheduled as festival activity builds toward the weekend.
Grammer is known for pop hits including “Keep Your Head Up” and “Honey, I’m Good.” Swindell has built a career in country music with multiple charting singles and albums.
Festival attendees should also be aware of ongoing street construction elsewhere in Mitchell. The city has issued several road-closure notices, including a closure at the intersection of Kemper Avenue and Ohlman Street. Travelers can check current city alerts before heading downtown.
The Corn Palace Festival concludes Sunday, Aug. 30.
