MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — An emergency water main break is causing a significant water outage in north Mitchell.
The break is affecting the 800 and 900 blocks of North Windsor Avenue, where water service will be shut off for a minimum of eight hours while crews address the problem.
Officials said the water main break may also affect surrounding areas, meaning residents and businesses outside the immediate two-block area could experience an interruption or changes in water service.
Residents in the affected area should plan for an extended outage as repairs continue.
