MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Mitchell residents will have an opportunity to weigh in on pedestrian and roadway safety during a public open house scheduled for May 5.
City officials will host the event at the Corn Palace, inviting community members to share concerns, ideas and suggestions aimed at improving safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
Leaders say feedback gathered during the open house will play a key role in shaping a comprehensive safety action plan focused on reducing injuries across Mitchell’s transportation network. The plan will identify priority areas and potential improvements to enhance accessibility and overall safety throughout the city.
