MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — All 19 businesses in Mitchell tested by the South-Central Alcohol Task Force on Thursday passed their compliance checks.

Officer Dan Kopfmann emails Mitchell Now, saying the police department sent teenagers into the various convenience stores, bars, restaurants, and theatres on July 2nd to see if they would be asked for identification when they tried to make an alcohol purchase. Staff at Lupo, The Masonic Temple, Corn Palace Gift Shop, Corn Palace, Main Street Mercantile, Area Community Theatre, Jokerz Casino II, Village Bowl / Sneakers Casino, Lakeview Golf Course, Motel 6, Westside Sinclair, County Fair Food Store, The Green Room, El Columpio, Meat Lodge, Graham Sinclair, Marlin’s Roadhouse Grille, Cattleman’s Club Steakhouse, and the Cubby’s at 1000 N. Burr were all up to the challenge.

Failing an alcohol compliance test can result in legal consequences for the business and the individual employee responsible.
