MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — South Dakota’s 2026 general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, including Central time in Mitchell and Davison County.
Where Do I Vote in South Dakota?
Registered voters can find their polling location through the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Voter Information Portal. Enter your name as it appears on your voter registration and either your birth date or residential ZIP code.
The portal also lets voters check registration information, view sample ballots and track absentee ballots. Confirm your location before leaving home rather than relying on where you voted previously.
Mitchell Now previously outlined these resources in South Dakota Voters Urged to Check Polling Locations Before Nov. 3 Election.
What Identification Should I Bring?
The Secretary of State’s voting guidance lists acceptable identification, including:
- A South Dakota driver’s license or nondriver ID.
- A U.S. government photo ID, including a passport.
- A tribal photo ID.
- A current student photo ID from a South Dakota high school or accredited college or university.
Voters without acceptable photo identification can sign a personal identification affidavit and cast a regular ballot.
Who Can Help Davison County Voters?
Contact the Davison County Auditor’s Office at 605-995-8608 for assistance with polling locations or voting questions. Check your assigned polling location through the portal before traveling to vote.
