At the Mitchell Teener Tournament over the weekend, Mitchell Black went 1-2, while Mitchell White went 3-1.
In the first game on Friday, Mitchell Black shut out Huron 8-0 behind A.J. Wilber’s one-hit shutout. Wilber struck out 8 in five innings and went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. Esten Schlimgen also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mitchell Black was defeated by Yankton 12-8 in their second game. Ben Wilber went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Mitchell. Conor Mattke drove in three, and Parker Mandel went 2-for-4. Yankton went 3-0 in the tournament, defeating Mitchell, Winner, and Huron.
Mitchell Black fell to Winner 7-4 on Saturday. Landon Soulek went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s for Mitchell.
Huron downed Mitchell White 10-3 after scoring 5 runs in the second inning.
Mitchell White blanked Yankton 12-0 behind two hits apiece from Jacob Ebert, Gavin Jones, and Tyler Christensen. Jones also pitched three shutout innings.
Mitchell White defeated Pierre 10-4. Jones drove in three, and Jaxson Hartman knocked in two runs in the win.
Mitchell White also edged Sioux Falls East 4-3.
