Pierre came to Mitchell High School on Tuesday night for a conference match and improved to 4-0 on the season with a five set win (25-14, 25-17, 18-25, 25-27, 15-8). Mitchell (4-3) has lost three matches in a row and will be in Harrisburg on Saturday to continue conference play. The Kernels fought back from down two-sets-to-none to win the third set 25-18 and then win the fourth set in extra points 27-25. Pierre closed out the victory with a 15-8 fifth-set clincher.
