MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan football is back at home for the final two weeks of the GPAC season and faces Jamestown on Saturday at 1 p.m. DWU (3-6, 3-5 GPAC) has lost three straight, and Jamestown is on a six-game slide.
The Tigers will again look to freshman quarterback Cayden Cunningham to lead the offensive charge in what will be his second career start. Cunningham completed 11-of-25 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions last week in the loss to Briar Cliff.
“I thought Cayden did a really good job executing the game plan that we had for him,” DWU head coach Ross Cimpl said. “I think there were some things he had to learn on the fly or adjust to on the fly in terms to the speed of things, but (we) went into a two-minute drill at the end of the game with a chance to score … and you saw him really settle in.”
Kickoff at Joe Quintal field is at 1 p.m. on Saturday with pregame coverage on KMIT.com and 105.9 FM beginning at 12:40 p.m.
