Wagner’s former police chief was ordered to pay more than $1,200 in fines after pleading guilty to a drunk-driving charge. 53-year old Tim Simonsen also received a suspended imposition of sentence. Simonsen was arrested near Armour in the early morning hours of January 22nd following a crash just north of Armour. As a result of his guilty plea to first offense DUI, other charges were dropped against Simonsen, who had served in law enforcement for three decades. After the January arrest, the Wagner City Council demoted him to police officer. He retired from law enforcement earlier this month.
