Authorities are looking for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run vehicle-pedestrian accident in Mitchell. On Monday evening just before 6:45, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Green Drive and North Kimball Street in Mitchell. Emergency dispatch received a 911 call saying the victim was lying in the roadway. EMS personnel rendered aid to the victim, who was transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian left the scene without notifying authorities. The victim is currently in stable condition. Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to contact the Mitchell Police Department. The police department is also asking that anyone who lives in or near the area check video security camera systems for footage that may assist with the investigation.
