The Dimock Emery Raptors were feeling pretty good about their start last night as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first at the pond in Parkston. Phil Johnson picked up where he left off driving in the first run of the game on a RBI single scoring Jason Schimdt and the Raptors had a 1-0 lead. Then Gene Kitchens drove in Peyton Nash and the Raptors were off. The Mudcats then proceeded to score the next 6 runs of the game and never looked back.

The Mudcats Dan Bonte drove in two runs in the bottom 1st then in the bottom of the second of the 2nd Jake Goble homered to deep left field for Mudcats 6-2 advantage. The Mudcats put up a 4 spot in the bottom of the 5th then 3 more in the bottom of the 7th to win the game by the final of 13 to 3. The Mudcats Luke Borman and Jake Goble led the team in RBI’s as they both cashed in two each. Jake Weber was sharp for the Mudcats going seven innings while scattering 8 hits while allowing 3 runs and striking out 4. The Raptors Landon Waddell took the loss as he could not get out of the 1st inning. The Raptors are now 11-8 while the Mudcats picked up their fourth win of the season. The Raptors host the Crofton Bluejays at home on Saturday night while the Mudcats host the 10-2 Alexandria Angels at 5 pm on Sunday night at the Pond which is our Kool 98. 3 FM amateur GOTW!

The Dell Rapids Mudcats (Class B) and Sioux Falls Brewers (Class A) continue to lead their respective divisions in the latest South Dakota amateur baseball poll of the season. Class B — 1. The DWU Football youth camps are on July 15th and 16th with a 6:30-8:00 p.m. session. The DWU Football youth camps are for grades k- 8th grades and are for grades entering fall of 2024. The cost of The DWU Football youth camps is $30 per participant. The DWU Football youth camps are from 6:30pm- 8:00pm on July 15th for k-4th grades and July 16th for grades 5th-8th grades and includes a T-shirt. Players will participate in non-contact drills and are run by DWU Coaches and players. The DWU Football youth camps are on July 15th and 16th. The Mitchell Kernels will be hosting a volleyball camp on Monday July 15th and Tuesday July 16th at the Mitchell High School main Gym. The Mitchell Kernels volleyball camp features a morning and an afternoon session. The morning session is for 7th-12th grades and is from 9 am till noon and the cost is $70 per player. The afternoon session is for grades 1st through 6th grade and the camp cost is $45 per participant. The Mitchell Kernels volleyball camp will be coached by The Head coach of the Mitchell Kernels Volleyball team Deb Thill and her coaching staff.
