Mitchell Amateur Baseball
The Mitchell Aces struggled to find any momentum yesterday afternoon. The Mount Vernon Mustangs took them down again by a score of 13-2. Mitchell has began the season just 1-14 in their first 15 games. They’ll get another chance at a win tomorrow when they travel to face Yankton.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins had a tough outing yesterday against the Detroit Tigers. They faced Tarik Skubal, the defending Cy Young winner, on the mound, and it was not pretty. He struck out 13 batters in the game, including seven of those in a row. Minnesota managed just two hits in this 3-0 shutout loss on the road. Next, the Twins will play tomorrow on the road in Miami when they face the Marlins.
WNBA
The Minnesota Lynx had a dominating performance yesterday when they took on the Connecticut Sun at home. They were led by Napheesa Collier & Kayla McBride who combined for 43 points in the win. The Lynx will play again tomorrow when they face the Indiana Fever in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship game at 7pm on Prime Video. Minnesota’s Collier and Indiana’s Caitlin Clark were named All-Star captains yesterday afternoon. The other eight starters as voted on by fans (50%), players (25%) and media (25%) will be announced later tonight on ESPN during the NBA Free Agency Special at 6pm.
