Mitchell Football
The Kernel football team get back to the field tomorrow and will be at home. They will face the Watertown Arrows at Joe Quintal Field at 7pm in Mitchell.
Mitchell Volleyball
The Kernel volleyball team will be in action tonight. All teams will be competing, and the freshman will be in the main gym and start at 4:30pm. The JV will play at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 7pm all in the Auxiliary Gym.
Mitchell Soccer
The Kernel soccer teams will be playing tonight on the road in Yankton at Yankton Crane Youngworth Field with varsity boys and girls JV playing at 5pm & girls varsity and boys JV playing at 7pm.
Mitchell Golf
The Kernel boys golf team will be competing tomorrow morning in Mitchell. They will host a Varsity Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course beginning at 10:30am.
DWU Volleyball
The No. 24 Tiger volleyball team took on the Dordt Defenders last night in Mitchell. A back-and-forth game that went five sets did not end up going in the favor of the Tigers as the Defenders won, 3-2. DWU is now 7-6 overall.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins took on the New York Yankees and it was a more decisive win than last time in this matchup. It was New York taking another victory. Trent Grisham homered twice, and Cody Bellinger also went deep as the Yankees beat the Twins, 10-5. That win closed out the series and Minnesota will play again on Friday when they host the Cleveland Guardians.
WNBA
The No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx went down to the wire in Game 2 against the No. 8 Golden State Valkyries. A last second shot from Cecilia Zandalasini that missed the mark officially completed the comeback by Minnesota to win the series and advance after the 75-74 victory.
NFL
Week three will get rolling tonight for some Thursday Night Football. It will be the Miami Dolphins at the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium at 7:15pm on Prime Video.
