Mitchell Football

The Kernel football team is having their final road game of the season tomorrow night. They will be in Brandon, SD taking on the Brandon Valley Lynx at Brandon Valley high school and the game will begin at 6pm for kickoff this week.

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel girls tennis team is preparing for Class AA State Tournament competition today and tomorrow. They will compete in Sioux Falls at 9am today and at 8am tomorrow all at Tomar Park.

Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball teams continue play tomorrow and will be at home. Mitchell will host Rapid City Central with JV and freshman playing at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 6:30pm.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team is on the road yet again tomorrow night. They’ll travel to Crete, NE to face the Doane Tigers at the Haddix Center at 7:30pm.

MLB

The Division Series had four games in action last night and one even came to a close. The No. 4 seed New York Yankees were packed up and sent home by the No. 1 seed Toronto Blue Jays after losing last night, 5-2. Toronto won the series, 3-1. The No. 6 seed Detroit Tigers made the series be tied now at 2-2 with a decisive Game 5 around the corner after their 9-3 win over the No. 2 seed Seattle Mariners. You also had the No. 4 seed Chicago Cubs stay alive after their 4-3 win over the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee still leads the series, 2-1. And also, the No. 2 seed Philadelphia Phillies remain alive after getting solid 8-2 win over the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers. LA still has the series lead, 2-1.

WNBA

The WNBA Finals Game 3 is in the books. The No. 4 seed Phoenix Mercury nearly had themselves a late game comeback over the No. 2 seed Las Vegas Aces but fell short due to a go-ahead basket by A’ja Wilson the final seconds of the game. The Aces won the game 90-88 and take a 3-0 series lead. Wilson led the way for Las Vegas with a 34-point and 14-rebound double-double.

NFL

Week 6 begins with Thursday Night Football. It is an NFC East rivalry matchup as the Philadelphia Eagles travel to face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. TNF will air on Prime Video and begin at 7:15pm. The Minnesota Vikings will not be playing this week and are on a bye.
