Mitchell Volleyball

The No. 8 seed Kernel volleyball team hosted the No. 9 seed Spearfish Spartans in Mitchell last night. It was a dominant performance from the Kernels as they won in straight sets, 3-0. Steamrolling the opening set, 25-12 and also the second, 25-15. The final set was the toughest as the Spartans tried to stay alive, but Mitchell took that one as well, 25-22. They have punched their ticket to the State Tournament in Rapid City, SD for the first time since 2018.

DWU Soccer

Various players from the men’s and women’s Tiger soccer teams have been honored with Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference selections. The women have five players named All-Conference including Annika Enevoldsen & Noelie Prat were honorable mention, Meghan Hutchison & Hannah Petrucci on second team and Abigail Colgrove made first team. The men also had five players on the All-Conference list. AJ Bowman was honorable mention, Lukas Adamhuber & Luis Waeschle were second team and Colin Burke & Evan Bolster made first team.

DWU Wrestling

The Tiger men’s and women’s wrestling teams each see action tomorrow. Both are competing on the road. The women will wrestle in the Dust Bowl Open in Colby, KS at the Colby Event Center at 9am. For the men, they will be in Marshall, MN competing in the SMSU Dual. They’ll be in the R/A Facility and get started at 7pm.

DWU Basketball

The Tiger basketball teams each hit the road tomorrow night. They will head to Hastings, NE to face the Hastings Broncos in Lynn Farrell Arena. The No. 16 women’s basketball team (2-1) will face No. 25 Hastings (2-2) at 2pm in another Top 25 ranked matchup – their third in a row. For the men (3-2), they will follow and play their game against their men’s team (1-4) at around 3:45pm.

DWU Football

The Tiger football team (4-6) will hit the field tomorrow for the final time this season. They’ll be at home in Mitchell hosting Senior Day at Joe Quintal Field and playing the Hastings Broncos (4-5). Kickoff is set for 1pm.

SDSU Football

The No. 16 Jackrabbit football team (7-3) is in desperate need of a turnaround. They’ve now lost their last three games. SDSU will get a chance to turn things around tomorrow when the host No. 14 Illinois State (7-3) at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings. They’ll play at 2pm on Midco Sports/ESPN+.

SDSU Basketball

The (RV) Jackrabbit women’s basketball team (3-0) are set to play again tomorrow in Rapid City, SD. They will take on Montana (1-2) with the game airing on the Summit League Network and start at 6pm MT/7pm CT.

NFL

Thursday Night Football last night had the New England Patriots hosting the New York Jets. The Jets put up more of a fight than expected, but in the end the Patriots were the better team and took the win, 27-14. Running back TreVeyon Henderson led the way with a hat trick of touchdowns with two on the ground and one receiving for New England. The Minnesota Vikings (4-5) will be playing on Sunday at Noon on FOX against the Chicago Bears (6-3).

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves (7-4) return for NBA Cup – Group Play competition tonight. They will take on the Sacramento Kings (3-9) in the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN at 7pm on NBA League Pass.
