DWU Volleyball
The No. 25 Tiger volleyball team had five athletes named to the Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference team and earned some additional awards. Lily Ranschau & Karly Vanderwerff got honorable mention, Evy Knoblock was second team and Elizabeth Tyler & Kayleigh Hybertson were first team selections. Tyler was even named the Co-Defender-of-the-Year as she recorded 607 digs (5.78 digs per set) and Hybertson earned Setter-of-the-Year posting 1,051 assists (10.01 assists per set). Also, as of last night, DWU qualified for the National Tournament for the first time since 2022. Opening round play starts this Saturday as the Tigers will face the No. 23 Park Pirates in Parkville, MO.
DWU Wrestling
The (RV) Tiger men’s wrestling team is set to compete in Mitchell tomorrow night. They’ll be in the Christen Athletic Center facing Northwestern (IA). The match will begin at 7pm.
DWU Basketball
The Tiger basketball teams have doubleheader action tomorrow in Mitchell in the World’s Only Corn Palace. GPAC action continues rolling as they will face the Morningside Mustangs. The No. 16 women’s basketball team (2-2) tips off at 6pm in another ranked matchup facing (RV) Morningside (5-0). The men’s basketball team (4-2) will play afterwards against the Mustang men (2-4) at around 7:45pm.
SDSU Basketball
The Jackrabbit men’s basketball team faced Peru State last night and home. They took care of business with ease. They improve to 3-2 overall after a 94-46 win. The men won’t play again until Friday and the women will return to the court on Thursday.
NFL
Monday Night Football was last night between the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders. Dallas had control of the game from the start and ended up with a 33-16 win. Dak Prescott led the way going 25-for-33 passing and throwing for four touchdowns. The Cowboys rise to 4-5-1 overall.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Dallas Mavericks last night. Tired legs showed for Dallas facing the fresh-legged Timberwolves and Minnesota cruised to a 120-96 win and they improved to 9-5 overall. Naz Reid led the Timberwolves with 22 points off the bench and added 12 rebounds for a double-double.
