Boys State Tournament Championship Results
Class AA:
- No. 3 seed Huron 59, No. 1 seed Sioux Falls Lincoln 47 (Huron’s first boys championship since 2004)
Class A:
- No. 2 seed West Central 66, No. 1 seed Sioux Falls Christian 56 (West Central finished season undefeated 25-0)
Class B:
- No. 2 seed Freeman 61, No. 5 seed Castlewood 53 (Freeman’s first boys championship since 1975)
DWU Basketball
The No. 9/No. 2 seed Tiger women’s basketball team has advanced to the Fab Four of the 2026 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament. They will be playing tonight in the Tyson Events Center against No. 1 seed Marion (IN) in Sioux City, IA. Tipoff for the Semifinal matchup will be at 8pm. Additionally for the Tigers, a pair of milestones were hit on Saturday in their Quarterfinal win. Avery Broughton broke the record for single season blocks with 72, surpassing Randi Morgan’s record that stood since the 2003-2004 season. Jason Christensen also passed Gordie Fosness in all-time wins with his 352nd win on Saturday.
DWU Baseball
The Tiger baseball team gets back on the field tomorrow afternoon. They’re going to be in Sioux City, IA for a doubleheader against Morningside. The first pitch against the Mustangs will be at 2pm.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves had a battle with the Boston Celtics last night on the road. They got off to a slow start but turned up the heat to make it a wire-to-wire game in the end. Minnesota came away with a 102-92 victory to improve to 44-28 overall. Bones Hyland led the Timberwolves with 23 points off the bench.
