MITCHELL S.D. (Mitchell Now) The Mitchell School District has selected Todd Obele as the next principal of Longfellow Elementary School. Obele, who currently serves as superintendent of the Henry School District, will begin his new role on July 1.
He succeeds longtime principal Lisa Heckenlaible, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
District leaders say Obele brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including work in school administration and special education leadership.
Mitchell Superintendent Joe Childs said Obele impressed district officials with his commitment to students and his ability to develop strong connections with staff, students, and families.
