MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Today, Monday, Oct. 19, is the deadline for Davison County residents to register to vote or update their voter registration information ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
Residents can check their registration status, voting precinct and polling location through South Dakota’s Voter Information Portal. Those who have moved or changed their names should review their information before the deadline.
To register, residents must complete and sign a voter registration form and submit it to the Davison County Auditor’s Office. The form must include an original signature and be received by today’s deadline. South Dakota does not accept voter registration forms by fax or email, according to the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office.
Absentee voting is already underway. The county reminds residents to bring identification when voting and says voter registration records will not be updated after today’s deadline until the general election has concluded. davisoncounty.org
Residents with questions about registration or absentee voting can contact the Davison County Auditor’s Office. Additional election information is available on the Davison County website.
