Mitchell Softball
The Kernel softball team faced Brandon Valley last night on the road. It was tough sledding for Mitchell and Brandon Valley had the bats rolling and exploded with a 12-run bottom of the third. The Lynx jumped out with a lead to begin the game and never looked back as they cruised to an 18-2 win over the Kernels. Mitchell is now 1-5 overall.
Mitchell Baseball
The Kernel baseball team gets back on the diamond tonight as they look to end their three-game losing skid. They’ll be at home in Mitchell hosting the Rapid City Stevens Raiders. The first pitch will be at 5pm.
Mitchell Golf
The Kernels girls golf team had a Varsity Quad over in Yankton yesterday. Mitchell came away with a first-place finish as team yesterday in the Yankton Quad. Six players were in the Top 10 as well. Presley Meyerink got 10th with a 92, Elliot Smith got ninth with a 91, Londyn Hajek got sixth with an 89, Brynlee Sabers got fifth with an 87, Anna Eliason got fourth with an 86, Mia Larson got second with a 77 and Maddie Childs claimed the top spot in first with a 75.
Mitchell Tennis
The Kernel boys tennis team took on Rapid City Stevens yesterday on the road. Mitchell will continue to compete again today against Rapid City Stevens for the Rapid City Invitational in Sioux Park at 9am.
Mitchell Track & Field
The Kernel track & field teams have another meet listed for this afternoon after competing yesterday in a Varsity Invitational against Pierre. Today they’ll be against Mount Vernon/Plankinton at Mount Vernon high school at 1:30pm. Full results from yesterday in Pierre:

DWU Baseball
The Tiger baseball team will have their final series of the regular season this afternoon. They will take on the Mount Marty Lancers in Yankton, SD in a doubleheader. The first pitch will be at 3pm.
DWU Track & Field
The Tiger track & field teams get back to it this morning. They will compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, IA. Start time is at 8:35am. DWU track will also compete in the Grandview Viking Classic at 10am, also in Des Moines, IA.
DWU Softball
The Tiger softball team faced Dordt on the road yesterday in Sioux Center, IA. DWU suffered its first back-to-back-to-back losses since March 7 & 8 in Tucson, AZ. They dropped their games yesterday to the Defenders by scores of 6-1 and 11-3 (6 innings). They will close out their regular season Saturday when they travel to Sioux City, Ia to take on Morningside at the Jensen Softball Complex in a doubleheader that begins at 1pm.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins continue to give the New York Mets confidence as they drop another game. New York had three three-run innings in the game and ended up winning it, 10-8. Minnesota drops to 12-13 overall and will start a new series against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight at 6:10pm on MLBTV.
NBA
The NBA Playoffs continue today with opening round Game 3’s. Tonight’s games, which all air on Prime Video, include:
