MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Dakota Wesleyan University has named 12 seniors as finalists for the 2026 Wesleyan Honors of Distinction, with Mitchell students earning spots in multiple categories.

The Honors of Distinction, established in 2022, recognize four graduating seniors—one each in learning, leadership, faith and service—who exemplify the university’s values. Candidates must meet GPA requirements, hold senior status and complete an application process. Finalists are selected by a Student Senate-appointed panel and interviewed by a campus committee.

Elizabeth Tyler of Mitchell is a candidate for the Faith distinction, recognized for her involvement in campus ministry and commitment to spiritual growth. Gracie Geppert of Mitchell is a finalist for the Service distinction, honored for her dedication to community engagement and inspiring others through volunteer work.
