Showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday and Saturday in Mitchell as Tour de Corn and the South Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournament bring outdoor activity across the city. Sunday is expected to turn sunny and cooler.

Tour de Corn begins Friday, Aug. 14, in Mitchell, kicking off three days of activities scheduled at Kiwanis Woodlot Park and the Corn Palace.

Hutchinson County 4-H members are showcasing cattle, goats, pigs, fashion, visual arts and other projects during 4-H Achievement Days in Tripp, highlighting skills developed through years of participation.

Charles Mix County 4-H members are showcasing livestock, woodworking, art and other hands-on projects during 4-H Achievement Days in Lake Andes, demonstrating skills developed through months and years of preparation.

Davison County 4-H members and their canine partners took center stage during the 4-H Dog Show, demonstrating the training, teamwork and dedication they have developed with their dogs.

McCook County 4-H members are showcasing cattle, hogs and sheep during 4-H Achievement Days, gaining experience in animal care, showmanship and agriculture while building friendships along the way.
