Kiel Nelson threw two touchdowns and ran for one more, as DWU defeated Hastings at Joe Quintal Field on Saturday 27-16. The Tigers racked up 443 yards of offense in the win.

Nelson struck first for the Tigers with a 74-yard run to the end zone to tie the game at 7-7. Preston Nedved caught a touchdown from 14 yards out, and Garrett Determan was found by Nelson for another for a 76-yard score.

Jamin Arend’s 27-yard touchdown run with 1:29 left in the game secured victory and capped off a 12-play, 81-yard drive that chewed up 6-minutes and 6-seconds off of the clock.

DWU is on the road next week at Concordia at 1 p.m.
