Just in time for the 4th of July holiday, personal finance website Wallethub recently conducted a survey to measure each state’s level of patriotism.
Thirteen different areas were measured to come up with a state’s level of patriotism including military enlistees, veterans, citizens who voted, and volunteerism – encompassing military and civic engagement.
South Dakota ranked 12th in the survey. North Dakota was 4th, while Montana was 2nd. Alaska was the most patriotic state according to the survey, while Arkansas was the least patriotic.
South Dakota ranked 10th in civic engagement, including volunteerism, voting, and jury participation. The state ranked 29th in military engagement.
