MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) – Warm and mostly dry weather will dominate the workweek in Mitchell, with sunshine, above-normal temperatures and periods of gusty wind expected through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, an extended stretch of warm and dry conditions will continue across the region for much of the week. Southerly winds will strengthen Monday, with gusts potentially reaching 25 to 35 mph across parts of southeastern South Dakota. A cold front will move through Tuesday, but little moisture is available and precipitation chances remain low.

Temperatures will remain warm despite the front. The National Weather Service expects highs in the 70s to near 80 Tuesday, followed by temperatures in the 70s Wednesday. Low precipitation chances could return toward Thursday and Friday, although confidence in measurable rainfall remains low. Breezy conditions are expected to return Friday.
