SIOUX CITY, IOWA (MITCHELLNOW)  The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers women’s basketball team is in the Round of 16 in the NAIA Women’s National Championship Tournament looking to advance to the Round of 8.  The Cumberland Patriots women’s basketball team out of Williamsburg, Kentucky is the only thing that is standing in their way. But if wins and losses were judged by fan support, the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers women’s basketball team would win in a landslide.

The Lady Tiger fans showed up dressed warm on a chilly day in Mitchell, but weather conditions were never on their mind. The only thing these Tiger fans were concerned about was cheering on their team to victory.  Sioux City is about a two-and half-hour bus ride, but the DWU front office spared no expense as the Tiger fans cruised in style in a luxury in a Freightliner Executive Coach Bus.

The Tiger fans are a close-knit group who shared stories and talked about the Tiger championships and more Tiger championship titles yet to come. But the main thing these Tiger fans had in common was they were on a mission to support, cheer, and be loud to help make sure that their Lady Tigers were never alone in their NAIA National Championship run in Sioux City.  The chant the whole bus ride was “Go Tigers!”
