The Mitchell Aces have played all their games at home this season and were looking to get to 2-2 on the season on Wednesday night at Cadwell Park. They say good pitching beats good offense and the Mitchell Aces had both on display last night winning in eight innings over the Parker Ringnecks by the final of 15 to 1. The visiting Parker Ringnecks were held in check all night by the Mitchell Aces pitching staff as the kept they Ringneck hitters off balance and swinging at air on Wednesday. Mitchells Colin Stang started the game for the Mitchell Aces and did not allow a hit or a run in his five innings of work. Mitchells relivers Tyson Sabers and Hudson Haley in there three innings of work only allowed one run on two hits. The three Mitchell Aces pitchers combined to strike out fifteen Parker Ringnecks batters.
When it came to offense for the Mitchell Aces there was plenty of that to go around as the Aces scored early and often with the biggest blow coming in the bottom of the third inning as they scored six runs. Parker Mandel led the offense with three hits, including a double, a walk, and three RBIs, Conor Mattke drove in two runs on a homer, Porter Geppert added one hit and two RBIs, Hudson Borgan batted 2-for-2 with a walk, two doubles, and an RBI, and Karter Sibson drove in two runs in the win as well. Carter Miller, Lincoln Bates, and Parker Mandel each drove in one run in the win for Mitchell.
The Parker Ringnecks best players on the night were Colin Robertson and Jevin Erickson who turned out to be the lone two Ringneck batters who managed to put wood on ball as they accounted for the lone two Ringnecks hits. The Mitchell Aces have made it back to 5oo as they are now 2-2 on the season. The Mitchell Aces look to keep it rolling at home this Saturday against the visiting Aberdeen Circus starting at 2:00 p.m. at Cadwell Park.
