Former Sanborn Central girls basketball standout, former SDSU women’s basketball player, and overseas professional athlete, Myah Selland, is set to have her jersey retired tonight by Sanborn Central ahead of the girls varsity game vs Bridgewater-Emery. The Letcher, SD native will be honored after an illustrious high school career. Jersey retirement will be at approximately 6:15pm.

The Kernel boys basketball team will open the year 2025 on the road tonight. They’ll be facing the team that gave them their last loss back on Jan. 2, 2024, the Harrisburg Tigers. They’ll get started at 7pm and freshman, JV and sophomores will all play before with games starting at 4pm & 5:30pm.

Both of your Tiger teams will hit the hardwood tomorrow. They’ll get set to travel to Orange City, Iowa to face Northwestern. The No. 17 ranked Tiger women’s basketball team take on the (RV) Northwestern team they beat back in November. The men will face a team ranked No. 7 and that handed them a loss in the Corn Palace. The women will start at 6pm and the men will follow at 7:45pm in the Bultman Center.

NBA action continues today with a seven-game slate. Starting with a pair of games at 6pm as the Phoenix Suns visit the Charlotte Hornets and the Houston Rockets travel to face the Washington Wizards. At 6:30pm you’ve got the Los Angeles Lakers at the Dallas Mavericks on TNT. The Minnesota Timberwolves will face the New Orleans Pelicans at 7pm. At 8pm, it’s the Atlanta Hawks at the Utah Jazz. Finishing the night will be the Boston Celtics at the Denver Nuggets on TNT and the Miami Heat at the Golden State Warriors, with both games at 9pm.

We’re talking playoffs now in the NFL! The action will begin this Saturday with the AFC. Staring with the No. 5 seed Los Angeles Chargers at the No. 4 seed Houston Texans at 3:30pm. It’ll be aired on CBS/Paramount+ and will be played in NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. Next will be the No. 6 seed Pittsburgh Steelers at the No. 3 seed Baltimore Ravens at 7pm. That game will be aired on Prime Video and played at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD. The No. 5 seed Minnesota Vikings won’t play until Monday night when they travel to play the No. 4 seed Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA on ABC/ESPN.
