MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell Planning Commission has given the green light to a new assisted-living apartment complex on North Minnesota Street, with one condition: no access from Wisconsin Street. The 42-unit building will reportedly offer one and two-bedroom apartments for seniors. While there were concerns about traffic on Minnesota and Wisconsin streets, especially during rush hours, city officials say Minnesota Street is the better choice for access. Construction is expected to start in June, with the first residents moving in by summer 2026. Final approval from the Mitchell City Council is set for January 21st.
