MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota Public Broadcasting is facing major changes under proposed budget cuts that would end most local programs. Officials say the $3.6 million reduction would shrink SDPB’s total budget from $11 million to $4 million and eliminate 50 jobs. The cuts would affect high school sports coverage and legislative streaming and could have an impact on the state’s emergency alert system. If approved, the changes would take effect July 1st.
