Today marks “Safer Internet Day”

PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Attorney General Marty Jackley is urging everyone to take part in Safer Internet Day, happening today. South Dakota’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is joining 61 other ICAC Task Forces across the country for the event. This year’s theme is “Parenting Tips for Online Safety.” In 2024, the South Dakota ICAC Task Force received 1,850 CyberTips about possible online sexual exploitation. They conducted 900 investigations and made 92 arrests, including nine for hands-on offenses.
