SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Smithfield Meats in Sioux Falls has been fined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. According to OSHA, the company did not ensure the safety of workers when they were in the walk-in steam ovens. Authorities say a worker became trapped in a steamer in August. The worker survived but had severe burns to their arms, back and face. OSHA has fined Smithfield over ten-thousand dollars for the incident.
