MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota’s unemployment rate continues to be lower than the national average. According to the latest report released by the state Department of Labor and Regulation, South Dakota’s unemployment rate stayed at one-point-nine percent in January. That’s significantly under the national average of four-point-one. The state’s workforce also grew to nearly 500-thousand people in January.
