MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota is part of a new USDA Forest Service hiring spree. The agency is set to hire around 11-hundred permanent firefighters and support staff in the Rocky Mountain Region. South Dakota jobs include forestry technicians for wildland fires in the Black Hills. These major additions are supposed to help the Forest Service prepare for catastrophic wildfires and implement more fire prevention throughout the rest of the year.
