Shane Bertsch, with South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks, says you do not need a park sticker to enter state parks this weekend.
“We invite everybody to come out, do not need a park sticker to get in for the weekend, although some people do buy their stickers when they come out for that weekend. And then also there’s free fishing for everybody of all ages. Lake Yankton, the fish are biting right now and they’re starting to bite on the Lewis and Clark Lake as well and below the dam on the river as well, so It’s a good time to go fishing. Looks like it’s going to be a little cooler. It’ll be kind of pleasant out to throw your line in, hopefully catch some good fish.”
Bertsch says while park entry and fishing will be free, those camping this weekend will have to pay regular camping fees.
