Davison County is being considered as the leading site for a new high-security state prison, but the proposal is drawing concern from Mitchell residents.

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Davison County is a top contender for a new state prison. However, not everyone is on board. Mitchell residents say the city isn’t ready for a high-security, 17-hundred-bed prison just miles from downtown. Residents are invited to weigh in at a meeting tonight.
