MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota will get about $10.1 million as part of a national $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family over their role in the opioid crisis. Attorney General Marty Jackley says the payments, spread over 15 years, will go toward addiction treatment, prevention, and recovery efforts through the state’s opioid settlement fund. Jackley says while the funds are important, they can’t make up for the harm caused to families.
