(MITCHELLNOW) The Sioux Falls Area Fugitive Task Force, made up of members from the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, Sioux Falls Police, and South Dakota Highway Patrol, confronted a dangerous situation late last week. They were called in to arrest a man who had previously threatened officers. During the encounter, the suspect pulled a gun. A sheriff’s deputy fired, hitting the man. Captain Josh Phillips says the task force deals with high-risk arrests nearly every day. The suspect was treated at a local hospital, released, and is now in custody.
