MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A young woman from Sioux Falls is running across South Dakota, and she’s doing it for a good cause. Hope Grismer will try to cover all 430 miles in less than ten days. She started her run on July 7th near Spearfish and hopes to reach Brookings by July 16th to beat the current record of 10 days, 7 hours. Along the way, she’s raising money for Feeding South Dakota, with a goal of 43 hundred dollars. Grismer says the run combines her love for ultramarathons with her passion to fight food insecurity. She’s facing heat, exhaustion, and highway traffic, but says the music of Rihanna, her friends cheering her on, and the mission behind it all are what’s keeping her going.
