MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Former Mitchell Baseball Association president Jason Christensen is speaking out, frustrated over the lack of a clear path for American Legion-aged players in Mitchell. At a recent Sports and Events Authority meeting, Christensen reportedly criticized MBA leadership for not resolving eligibility issues with the South Dakota Legion and for discouraging parents from speaking out. Mitchell hasn’t fielded a Legion team since 2023, and Christensen says current players are missing out. He’s calling for the association to either rebuild its board to rejoin Legion or fully commit to being an independent program. The next MBA board meeting is set for July 14th.
