MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Garbage collection and landfill hours in Mitchell will operate on an adjusted schedule for Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025.
City officials announced that residential garbage collection will begin at 7 a.m. and be completed by noon that day. Residents are encouraged to place their containers out earlier than usual to ensure pickup within the shortened schedule.
The Mitchell Regional Landfill will also close at noon on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
Residents are asked to plan accordingly for both curbside service and landfill use due to the reduced holiday hours.
