Mitchell Softball
The Kernel softball team is on the field tonight. They’re going to be on the road in Yankton taking on the Gazelles. The first pitch for the JV will be at 4pm and the varsity will start at 5:30pm.
Mitchell Golf
The Kernels girls golf team will be in competition today. They will be in Pierre at Pierre Hillsview Golf Course. The tee off has now been moved to 11am instead of 10am.
Mitchell Baseball
The Kernel baseball team has started slipping in recent weeks as they are now on a four-game losing streak. Mitchell will get a chance to get back in the win column tonight when they host Sioux Falls Lincoln in a doubleheader. The first pitch will be at 5pm.
DWU Golf
The Tiger women’s golf team wrapped up their first day in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships in Dakota Dunes, SD. DWU sits in 10th place after the first day with a 129 over par total score. One athlete sits in the Top 3 and it is Allison Meyerink who is tied for first at seven over par. They will begin play for day two at 9am this morning.
DWU Baseball
The Tiger baseball team is GPAC Conference Tournament bound tomorrow afternoon! After nabbing the last two games of their regular season and splitting the series with Mount Marty, DWU is now the six seed in the postseason tournament. No. 6 seed Dakota Wesleyan will face No. 3 seed Morningside at Sherman Field in Lincoln, NE tomorrow at 3pm. The Tigers split their regular season mini-series against the Mustangs just over a month ago, winning 8-6 and losing 7-2.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins began a new series against the Seattle Mariners last night. It was the strong start that got things going for the Twins as they led 7-0 through four innings of play and ended with an 11-4 win. Minnesota will play against Seattle again tonight at 6:40pm on MLBTV.
NBA
Tonight’s Playoff games feature a pair of Eastern Conference matchups and one in the West. They will all be Game 5 matchups. You’ll have:
- No. 7 seed Philadelphia 76ers @ No. 2 seed Boston Celtics at 6pm on ESPN (BOS leads 3-1)
- No. 6 seed Atlanta Hawks @ No. 3 seed New York Knicks at 7pm on NBC/Peacock (series tied 2-2)
- No. 7 seed Portland Trail Blazers @ No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs at 8:30pm on ESPN (SAS leads 3-1)
