MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — South Dakota voters should confirm where they will cast their ballots before the Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, general election, according to a reminder from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Polling locations may differ from those used in previous elections. Mitchell and Davison County residents can check their voter registration, find their polling place and review available sample ballots through the state’s Voter Information Portal. The portal also provides absentee ballot tracking.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Election Day.
According to the office’s reminder, voters should bring an acceptable photo ID. Options include a South Dakota driver’s license or nondriver ID, U.S. government photo ID, tribal photo ID or qualifying South Dakota school photo ID.
Voters without an acceptable photo ID may cast a regular ballot by signing a personal identification affidavit.
The office also encourages absentee voters to check their ballot’s status and allow sufficient time for its return.
Residents with questions about polling locations or voting procedures can contact their county auditor through the state’s county auditor directory. Additional resources are available on the Secretary of State’s voting information page.
