Central Electric Cooperative Awards 17 Scholarships to Area Students

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Central Electric Cooperative has awarded 17 scholarships to graduating seniors across its eight-county service area for 2026, recognizing academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

The annual scholarship program supports local students as they continue their education at colleges, universities and technical schools. Cooperative officials said the program reflects Central Electric’s ongoing commitment to investing in the future of rural communities.

Recipients were selected through a competitive application process that considered academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service and personal achievements.

Students from across the region were honored, including several from communities in the area. A full list of recipients, along with hometowns and schools, is included below.

Officials said the scholarships are made possible through the cooperative’s membership and dedication to supporting youth and education.
